Life is an accumulation of interesting things. But isn't everything interesting?

Absolutely not! I've started a list of pet hates, things that should not exist at all.

However, so many things are interesting that I suppose I'll have to work out a set of categories here.

• Here's something a lot of people take a while to figure out. It's proof that intonation in spoken English is phonemic, that is, intonation all by itself conveys meaning. It's also hilarious, from a fascinating collection called "Anguish Languish" story called Ladle Rat Rotten Hut. Since so many people have asked, I do have this book, but I haven't been able to locate it (probably in a box in the attic, and therefore not coming to light any time soon). BR>
