As I've scanned the web for interesting things related to
LGB lives, I've been rather encouraged by finding a
huge quantity of resources. These links should quickly lead you
to all the rest.
- The Queer Resources Directory
can connect you to most things of interest, probably.
- The Other Queer Page
is also chock-full of interesting information.
- The Human Rights Campaign is one of
the best advocacy groups.
- The Gay and Lesbian Alliance
Against Defamation is a very progressive media watchdog. Their
reports always include action recommendations.
- PFLAG -- Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays -- is
a national support, education, and advocacy organization. The
independently-run
PFLAG-Talk provides email lists, website, and an assortment
of resources.
- The Feminist Majority Foundation
web site isn't limited to sexuality issues, but it is supportive and
a stunningly rich source of relevant information.
- The International Association of
Lesbian/Gay Pride Coordinators, Inc. page links you to information
not readily available elsewhere, though the site is vastly
overdesigned and its server is slow.
- Union College, in Schenectady, NY, provides a rich set of
Multicultural Resources to assist gay, lesbian, and bisexual
reasearch.
- Active since 1992, the
Lesbian Avengers of San Francisco has spawned more than 50 chapters
in the U.S. and other countries. It is a direct action group of lesbian,
bisexual, and transgendered women focused on vital survival and
visibility issues.
- The Coalition for
Positive Sexuality promotes positive attitudes toward sexual
expression for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and straight people. Its
primary focus is education and myth-busting.
- Turn Out provides an excellent
guide to gay and lesbian political issues on the web, with links to gay and
lesbian officeholders around the US, to groups working for and against LGB
rights, information about specific issues, and news.
